The House of the Paladin
by Violet Needham
It all started because Hugh Vallence wanted to see the House of the Paladin in the neighbouring Duchy of Oronowitza, while he was spending his summer holiday in Flavonia. Almost before he realises it he becomes involved in a plot to save the beautiful young Duchess Anastasia from the fiendish schemes of her uncle, the Marquis Miglione.
Fortunately Hugh meets Baron Richard Fauconbois, known as Dick or the Stormy Petrel, and enlists his aid, for Dick proves to be a tower of strength in helping to rescue Anastasia.
A very exciting story this, which will catch and hold your interest from the first page to the last.
